Seeing snakes in the dream could mean nothing but most times is a sign of ancestral curse. some families worship idols in the past, and even when they become christian one is expected to undergo deliverance to be free from such bondage but often times people ignore such.
Yes we are new creatures once we are born again but then at some point in Christ's ministry people were delivered from demonic initiations.
